Fiore sardo Dop takes its name from the "pischeddas" shapes of perforated chestnut wood or even oak or wild pear, on the bottom of which a flower was carved, perhaps the lily or the asphodel, which left a real mark on the cheese which often also contained the initials of the name of the producer.  Gavoi  Pecorino Fiore Sardo is a  fat cheese, medium or long aged, with hard and crumbly texture.
